Vana'Bout
Vana'Bout is an event that lets you combine forces with players from all over the world!
Over the course of the challenge period, each adventurer will receive "plaudits" based on the value of their contribution when completing a special Records of Eminence objective. Objectives are set automatically for you once the event begins, you can check the list of active objectives and your progress towards them from the 'Vana'Bout' menu item in your Quests interface.
The total number of plaudits earned by adventurers around the world will be tabulated and if it exceeds the target amount, the challenge shall be considered a success! There will be a special reward campaign added to the usual monthly campaigns as part of the event.
In addition, personal rewards will be given to those adventurers who really make an effort during the event! The more plaudits you accumulate during the challenge period, the more rewards you can choose from.

Round Ten Adjustments
- The starting time is changing from 1:00 a.m. (PDT) to 8:00 a.m. (PDT).
- New daily and time-based objectives have been added.
- The overview of some objectives (listed details) has been changed. There are no changes to the contents or difficulty level.
- Differences between the daily objectives each day have been minimized.
Example 1: The following objective will be available each day of the event: Hunting, Kupo! (VBD)： Defeat the requisite number of experience-yielding enemies in non-Abyssea areas. Special Reward: 20 plaudits.
Example 2: The following objective will be available once every two days: This Chain Shall Not Be Broken (VBD)： Achieve an experience point chain bonus of 5. Special Reward: 30 plaudits.
Depending on the timing with which you cancel an objective, the same objective may appear again after the previous one is canceled. - The personal rewards lineup has been revised.
- New overall rewards have been added and some existing ones have been revised.
- The target value for completing 100% of the overall rewards has been increased slightly.

Objectives
Main Article: Vana'Bout (RoE)
Active Vana'Bout objectives will appear in your Quests menu, divided between Round (VB) objectives which are active for the duration of the current challenge and Daily (VBD) objectives which cycle every Japanese Midnight. Pay close attention to the descriptions of each challenge, this event is known to introduce localization errors. Stay alert.

There will be a special reward campaign if the challenge is successful.
Overall rewards
The rewards will be added to the usual monthly campaigns and their contents will change each time a reward challenge is held.
Plaudits Goal: 100% achieved
- Ambuscade Point Bonus Campaign: The effects of Abdhaljs seals will be automatically applied once per day when participating in each Ambuscade difficulty level.
- Obtain 10,000 Exemplar Points or 10,000 experience points: If you have 1 or more plaudits, you can receive your points from the Coordinator Moogle located in Mhaura (G-8) once the challenge period ends.
Plaudits Goal: 125% achieved
- Add a method for acquiring a Demonic Axe
Plaudits Goal: 150% achieved
- Phantom Gem Campaign:Once per Earth day, you may obtain a Phantom Gem of your choice from the "Phantom Gems Box" located near the NPCs listed below.
- The"Phantom Gems Box" appears only during the campaign period.
- You may choose from any Phantom Gem that your character is currently eligible to exchange Merit Points for.
- Phantom Gems you already possess cannot be obtained.

Personal Rewards
You can claim one reward from each tier that you have earned sufficient plaudits for over the course of the event. Enjoy playing Vana'Bout as you work your way up to the Gold Tier rewards!
Note: You will no longer be able to trade for the personal reward items once the exchange period has ended. Please remember to claim them during the exchange period.

* The value changes depending on how many plaudits you earn during the challenge period. You will receive 10 experience points/exemplar points per plaudit.
† If you are unable to earn exemplar points, you will receive experience points instead.
- Job point rewards also vary with plaudits. You get an extra job point for roughly every 10 plaudits earned past the minimum threshold for Gold rewards.
Once the challenge period is over, you can select a reward based on the number of plaudits you earned by speaking to the Coordinator Moogle at Mhaura (G-8).
Previous Challenges and Rewards
Version Updates
- 14 Dec 2023 - Overall plaudit target reduced to 25% of the original target of 16,275,000.
- 13 May 2024 - Silver Tier threshold lowered to 750 plaudits, players now have more time to finish incomplete objectives. Accumulated plaudits now visible from the Quest menu, Vana'Bout objectives restructured and moved to separate supercategory of quests. Some objectives now can grant more than 10 plaudits. Leaderboards and end-of-challenge titles added.
- 07 Oct 2024 - Rewards changed
- 12 Feb 2025 - Requirements for I'm on a Boat (VB), Obtain Hallmarks (VB), and Obtain Gallantry (VB) relaxed. Total number of daily objectives reduced. Plaudit totals for reward tiers adjusted downwards.
- 12 March 2025 - I'm on a Boat (VB) now counts quus catches in addition to bastore sardines.
- 11 November 2025 - Kupon A-AF+3 added to silver tier rewards
- 21 November 2025 - Personal reward costs lowered during Round 7.
- 10 March 2026 - You must now hold down the button to confirm cancellation of a daily objective.
- 16 March 2026 - Personal Reward tiers renamed
- 22 May 2026 - Mini'Bout rewards scaled down for anniversary
- 12 August 2026 - Daily objectives restructured
