A water-based automaton attachment.

Functionality:

• Reduces damage taken from
  successive attacks of the same type.

Directly reduces the damage of attacks, calculated after other forms of damage reduction like the Mana Jammer.

• Reduces Blunt, Slashing, Piercing, and Magic Damage when damaged consecutively by the same damage type.
  • The puppet must take damage for the attack to count toward Steam Jacket's building resistance.
  • May also increase resistance to added effects of damaging moves against which resistance has been built.
    • For example, in Abdhaljs Isle-Purgonorgo, an automaton hit repeatedly by the blunt-damage Assault command reduced the damage and fully resisted the stun effect of Chaotic Strike. However, when Chaotic Strike was executed before Assaulting, the puppet took full damage and was stunned for approximately 10 seconds.^[1]
  • Does not work with 1000 Needles, because it does not use any of the 4 damage types that the accessory protects against.
• Only tracks one damage type at a time. If the puppet is hit by a different damage type, all resistance memory is reset.
• The puppet does not need to be deployed.
• The damage can come from different enemies.
• Changing areas, Deactivation, and death reset the damage resistance memory.
• The Optic Fiber increases the damage cut by an additional 3% per maneuver tier, up to a maximum of an additional 9% damage reduction.^[2]
