The A.M.A.N. Trove is two different battlefields introduced in the August 7, 2018 Update [1]. The in-game names are "A.M.A.N. Trove (Mars)" and "A.M.A.N. Trove (Venus)" depending on which item is used to enter.
Requirements for Participation
Enjoying the Content
- Set the Records of Eminence objective “Exploring the Trove” (Quests > Objective List > Tutorial > Basics).
- Speak with Greyson in Lower Jeuno and trade silver A.M.A.N. voucher(s) for a Mars orb or Venus orb.
- The number of vouchers that must be traded vary by orb type. Venus orbs provide a better chance at higher quality items.
- Trade one of the above orbs to the burning circle located in Horlais Peak, Waughroon Shrine, or Balga's Dais and enter the battlefield.
- Each of these battlefields has a Home Point just outside, in Yughott Grotto, Palborough Mines, and Giddeus respectively. Domenic also offers a teleportation service which includes these battlefields, among others, making the process of attuning to these Home Points much easier.
- Between one and six players may participate. The time limit is 30 minutes.
Treasure chests/coffers
- Each battlefield contains ten chests/coffers and one Terminal Chest/Coffer.
Wooden Chests/Coffers
- If you strike it lucky with a wooden chest, you will receive an additional item drop when you clear the content. If you are unlucky, all the treasure will vanish and you will have to engage in combat against a fierce mimic.
- If you best the mimic, the Terminal Coffer will appear once more and you may open it to clear the battlefield.
Rainbow Chests
- Rainbow Chests appear in place of a remaining chest/coffer under slightly different circumstances depending on the orb used to start the battlefield.[3]
- Mars Orb: After opening 8 chests, one of the two remaining chests will either remain brown (you hear a noise), turn gold (loud thud), or turn rainbow (impossible to gauge thud).
- Venus Orb: After opening 8 chests, one of the two remaining chests will either remain gold (loud thud), or turn rainbow (impossible to gauge thud).
- It is furthermore possible for a rainbow chest to be present in place of any of the starting 10 chests/coffers, without you needing to open anything.
Terminal Chest/Coffer
- Opening the terminal chest/coffer will complete the battlefield, and you will receive a number of spoils proportional to the number of treasures you have opened.
- If an item with the Rare attribute would drop but you already possess that item, it will not appear in the list of spoils and there will be no system log to notify you of this.
Battlefield Details
Upon entering the battlefield 11 chests will spawn.
- 10 Chest O'Plenty (Mars Orb) or 10 Coffer O'Plenty (Venus Orb)
- 1 Terminal Chest (Mars Orb) or Terminal Coffer (Venus Orb)
Opening the Terminal Chest / Terminal Coffer ends the battle.
Opening a Chest O'Plenty / Coffer O'Plenty emits a 'sound' in the combat log that hints at the quality of eventual spoils. These sounds do not guarantee specific spoils.
- "You hear a noise, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared." An item is added to the final loot pool.
- "You hear a thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared." 1~2 items are added to the final loot pool, with a chance of equipment.
- "You hear a loud thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared." 1~2 items are added to the final loot pool, with a greater chance of equipment.
Thuds and Loud Thuds are more likely in Venus Orb battlefields.
As you open chests, the battlefield gives hints at greater spoils in one of the following ways:
- You feel like there's a huge sound left to be made.
- You feel like there's a huge sound left to be made!
- You feel like there's a huge sound left to be made...?
- You feel like there's an impossible to gauge thud left to be made!
- You feel like there's an impossible to gauge thud left to be made...?
Hints are not a guarantee, players may feel a huge sound incoming and still receive an Impossible to Gauge thud[4]. A hint of an Impossible to Gauge thud may go unrewarded.
Opening a chest or coffer has a chance to spawn an NM Mimic with the same name, Chest O'Plenty / Coffer O'Plenty, causing all other chests to despawn. This is designed to kill you and be the failure case for the battlefield. Defeating the Mimic causes the Terminal Chest / Terminal Coffer to respawn, but no other unopened chests will respawn.
The Chest/Coffer O'Plenty NM
Main Article: Chest O'Plenty
If a mimic appears the first thing it will do is use Ka-thwack, instantly killing anybody in range without a Reraise effect and drawing in anybody not in range.
Defeating this NM respawns the Terminal Chest/Coffer.
