Wiki Requests
If you have a FFXIclopedia-related request, such as tweaking or creating a template, feel free to post it in this section. You can use the Edit link beside the section title to ensure you are in the right place. Make sure you include as much detail as possible, including a link to the page (or at least the exact page title). I will try to accommodate you as best as I can! --Abbydon 17:31, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I'm relatively new at editing Wiki. I added this page: [Duelist's Chapeau +2], but when I begin typing in the search box to look for it, it appears as "Duelist's Chapeau 2" instead of "Duelist's Chapeau +2." What am I doing wrong? Thanks! SharMarali 20:56, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
NM Hunt Page
Hi! I really like the format you used on your NM Hunts page. Mind if I borrow that format for my own pages? --Altheav 14:43, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Sure! I haven't updated it in a long time, so it's a bit outdated. It's one of those pages I want to work on soon, including adding in NMs from areas I plan on hunting in. --Abbydon 16:31, October 21, 2010 (UTC)
Flagging for deletion
Thanks for taking the time to do all that. I've been neglecting to check those categories for a while. I should be able to get caught up soon. Tahngarthortalk-contribs 17:36, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
- No problem! I love this wiki, so I want it to be uniform and tidy. I enjoy helping out any way I can. Thanks for checking them out! --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 17:55, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
"Caller's Attire Set"
Next time please do some research. Not only do "Evoker's Attire" and "Summoner's Attire" provide convention for the name, but this is also the name that the armor storer's use. If anything, the ones that don't conform to what the armor storer's use should be changed. --Tarage 10:53, December 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Okay seriously? You did this to every armor page, and every one of them is wrong. I don't have time go go around and fix all of them. --Tarage 09:42, December 25, 2010 (UTC)
- I completely agree, stop trying to go into every single one of the AF3 pages and change their names and post rude comments about how the pictures should be named according to your naming standards. You don't own this wiki, and all of the prior armor storage slips list all types of armor stored as "attire" so theres absolutely no reason to change ANY of them. Please revert any changes you've made to any of the AF3 pages. --Jaela 07:38, December 27, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't recall leaving "rude" comments anywhere. Nor did I say anything about my naming standards. There are existing Policies. The File Policy has the following notes regarding names:
- Images of key items should be uploaded with a filename containing only the exact name of the key item and nothing else. (e.g. Silver Sea ferry ticket or Map of the Aqueducts)
- Images of items should be uploaded with a filename containing only the item or description name and nothing else. (e.g. Stone Arrowheads or Handful of stone arrowheads)
- Images of NPCs should be uploaded with a filename containing only the exact name of the NPC and nothing else. (e.g. Sagheera or Kaduru-Haiduru)
- Images of monsters should be uploaded with a filename containing only the mob's name and nothing else. (e.g. Robber Crab or Leaping Lizzy)
- It has other information regarding image policies, such as altered fonts and obstructions, but those are the points regarding names. As far as the move requests, I am replying in the sub-section below. Also, they are not "AF3": they are Empyrean. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 21:48, December 28, 2010 (UTC)

- I'm not sure I quite see the distinction between AF3 and Empyrean, at least at the moment. By the same reasoning, there's no AF2 either (it's Category:Relic Armor). People still call it AF2 for convenience/by convention, and I think it's reasonable to extend that to calling Empyrean armor AF3 at least in casual discussion.--31415 23:30, December 28, 2010 (UTC)
Empyrean Move Requests
The whole reasoning behind the requests was that multiple naming conventions were being used. Some were named like AF (which has Claim Slips and Empyrean does not), others were named like non-AF Claim Slips (Body piece is the name - ex: Noct Doublet Set), and the rest were someone's personal preferences.
However, due to popular demand, we will go with the following convention:
- <type> [Attire|Armor] (+#) Set : Attire for "soft" sets, and Armor for others.
This will combine the convention of AF sets as well as the "+1" format for non-AF sets.
I will edit all Empyrean sets accordingly. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 21:48, December 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Listen: I apologize for what i wrote here previously, my ... anger, i suppose you could call it, was irrational and stupid. Call it a bad outlet for built up stress. I apologize to you formally, and commend you on your attempt to change the site in a way you see to be beneficial. --Svith 20:44, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Apology accepted. I gladly accept feedback as long as it's constructive! :) ₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 14:08, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Can I suggest doing <type> [Attire|Armor] Set (+#) : insead of <type> [Attire|Armor] (+#) Set : ? --Yarlyramuh 20:51, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
- The problem with that is that it doesn't follow the prior naming conventions for either regular or AF sets.
These conventions can be seen here: Armor Sets/Classification --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 20:54, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Classifications
Aerroenu posted a message on Charitwo's talk page that sounds reasonable. You can see it here: Centralizing Artifact/Relic/Empyrean Armor Sets? --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 14:27, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
- I created a new page under Armor Sets that contains all naming conventions: Armor Sets/Classification. The talk page contains the discussion mentioned above. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 14:08, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Just wanted to give a head's up that I'm making the pages for all the variations of sets (Job's, Job's Body, Job's Armor, Job's Attire, and Job's Garb - stupid Ninja's Garb Set) for the Artifact, Relic, and Empyrean Armors. I set up a way to quickly access the URL and paste the #REDIRECT coding, so there's going to be a ton of spamming on the "updated pages" thing. Sorry about all that. (>_<) --Aerroenu 02:32, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
- No prob! When I got all those notification e-mails, I figured you were getting to work on it. :) I'll check them out once I get done with some of these checklists I've been working on. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 14:18, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Haha, got Round 1 done. Now, gotta make it for the +1 and +2 sets, Artifacts, and Relics. :) I might be taking further steps: seems peeps have made comparison pages. I'll help out with those. --Aerroenu 02:43, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Heyo! Yeah, I know I am veeeeeeeeeeeeeery late, but I'll be commencing Round 2 with the Empyrean +1 sets. Hopefully, I'll advance to Round 3 shortly. So, head's up on all the page spamming (by God, I hope no one flags those pages for deletion). Aerroenu 14:52, April 17, 2011 (UTC)
Key item Template
Can you make a template for Key items, preferably one for Atma/Abyssite and one for other key items? Thanks. --Duzell-Levi 01:49, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
- Sure! I'll work on those today. :) ₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 15:04, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
- I had some other things to take care of, so it took longer than expected. However, it's ready now. It's the same one as always, {{Infobox Key Item}}, but lots of changes have been made. Take a look at the template page for details. ₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 20:37, January 20, 2011 (UTC)
Job gesture rename requests
I reversed 2 of your speedy move requests for renaming job gesture key items, but before I do more I think we had better discuss it. Why do you think the naming convention is wrong if that's how the key item is written in-game? According to Naming Conventions "Key item page names should reflect the name of the item as it appears in your key items list". --Wagner17 05:42, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
- Key Items appear to be either way. Many of them are exactly as they appear in the Key Items list, but there are also many that follow standard wiki naming (propercase). It is understandable to reverse the requests on those. Proceed with any others you find. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 15:03, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
Template IconEx
Great work! I can't wait to see the finished product, based solely on the documentation in existence so far. --SimuAndy 20:12, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've been using icons in a bunch of templates I've made and am working on, and I had a heck of a time tracking down a bunch of them. So, I decided to make a multi-purpose template that could generate them all for me. lol. I'm working on the sub-templates now and am almost done with it. :) --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 20:15, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
- And it's done! The template is now ready for use: {{IconEx}}. --₪ ABBYDON ₪ t/ c 20:35, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
So, Square-Enix Just Announced Some In-Game Bonus Items...
So, was I supposed to wait until the Destrier Beret was actually released before I made the page? I vaguely remember hearing something about that a while back. I tried to check out the Prohibited Articles page to verify, but I'm an idiot, so I don't know how this situation would be interpreted. Trying to hold back on making the Prishe Statue article. (>_<)
- BTW, I know we have an Item Template for stuff like armor, but the way the stats section is piled up seems sloppy. Is Template:Armor still a proper way to organize those stats? The latter template seems more organized and easier on the eyes. (>_<) --Aerroenu 16:01, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
The founders and administrators of FFXIclopedia and Eorzeapedia, together with the podcast gurus over at Pet Food Alpha, Limit Break Radio and the Aetheryte Radio Network - are excited to announce their newest project - Gamerescape.com. Gamer Escape draws upon, and expands on, our collective experiences. We're combining the wiki platforms where you can get your information, podcasting platforms where you can listen to your favorite podcasting personalities, wordpress/news platform so you can quickly see what is going on with your favorite game, and of course, forums to allow you to discuss everything game related with the community.
What does that mean for FFXIclopedia?
We've copied the FFXIclopedia wiki content over to Gamerescape in order to seed and expand upon the wiki over there. FFXIclopedia will, of course, remain at Wikia and remain open and available for editing. To be clear, while there have been a few rather public departures from Wikia in the past few months, they are not a factor in our decision. The reality is that Wikia provides a great service for wikis and was a fine home for the past few years. They allow anyone with one click to try their hand at starting a wiki and a community. That is invaluable and, looking at Wikia's growth, has served them well. In light of some the recent public departures, we feel it was important to make this clear.
We are making this announcement because (i) we are truly excited about what we're launching; and (ii) you, the community, should know that the founders and some of the current admins and moderators will not be here, but will be developing the FFXI wiki/forums over at gamerescape.
What else is over at Gamerescape?
In addition to the content from the FFXIclopedia wiki, we have integrated Eorzeapedia - so all of your FFXI and FFXIV information is on the same site, just a click or two away. Also, in addition to FFXI and FFXIV, we've launched WakfuEscape, a platform dedicated to the upcoming Wakfu MMO (distributed by Square Enix). Complete with news platforms, forums and podcasts - we're continuing in our efforts to provide a site where you can get all of your gaming information without having to jump from site to site.
We've learned a lot since 2004 when we started FFXIclopedia, a lot of which is reflected in our new FFXIV and Wakfu wikis. We remain nothing more than a group of gamers at heart who enjoy playing games and helping the community develop a resource for those games. We're looking forward to continuing that effort over at GamerEscape.com. We hope to see all of you there.
PS. For those that have an Eorzeapedia.com account - your log-in credentials should work at any GamerEscape.com site.
