Stratum Abyssite are temporary key items that are used to spawn in conjunction with a Voidstone any number of VwNM's. Upon certain conditions the Stratum maybe upgraded to a higher tiered Stratum. Along with the higher tiered Stratum comes the opportunity to fight a harder NM. However, the player still has the option to fight the lower staged NM's, and doing so will not cause a penalty to their higher tiered Stratum.
