Walkthrough
- Zone into North Gustaberg (S) from Bastok Markets (S) to start the quest. Wolfram asks you to bring the Clump of Animal Hair to a man named Engelhart.
- Return to Bastok Markets (S) and speak with Engelhart (K-10). (where Harmodios' Music Shop is located in the present). Engelhart asks you to speak with a client at the waterfall in North Gustaberg (S).
- Exit the city and travel to the west side of North Gustaberg (S) by taking the ramp at F-9 west of the tower to the lower area. (Note: this is near the same spot used for Lycopodium transport in the modern era.)
- The quickest way is to use a Survival Guide to North Gustaberg (S) if you've activated it.
- Near the Drachenfall, on the western side of the cliff and southern side of the river at (F-8), there is a ???. Click it for a cutscene. You are asked to pick up a
Xhifhut from the goblin Leadavox. - Get a Gnole Claw either from the Auction House or from killing or stealing from Gnole type mobs. (See Notes below.)
- Travel to Vunkerl Inlet (S) and talk to Leadavox. Leadavox is on Gerlvan Isle on the border of (I-6) & (J-6) behind the Cyclopean Gate. Leadavox asks you to bring her a Gnole Claw in exchange for the Xhifhut.
- The fastest route to Vunkerl Inlet (S) is to use the Survival Guide north of the waterfall (F-7) to travel to Batallia Downs (S). Zone into Jugner Forest (S), and then follow the left wall to zone into Vunkerl Inlet (S). Or use the Campaign Arbiter teleport to Vunkerl Inlet (S).
- Trade Leadavox the Gnole Claw for the Xhifhut.
- Optional: Consider activating the Survival Guide in the west part of the map. This will save some running on the way to San d'Oria (which you'd be visiting during the mission line, even if it is not your chosen nation of allegiance).
- Return to Bastok Markets (S) and speak with Engelhart (K-10) again to complete this quest.
- During this Cutscene you will receive a Warning Letter.
- During this Cutscene you will receive a
Notes
- This Quest does not require finishing The Fighting Fourth quest, as long as you did the similar quest with either of the other 2 nations.
- Gnole Claws can be farmed from killing or stealing (with despoil) from Gnoles around E-7 in Vunkerl Inlet (S) or from Decrepit Gnoles at the Jugner Forest (S) Cavernous Maw.
- Trust: Nanaa Mihgo will use despoil on level 77 and above. This is the easiest way of obtaining a claw if you don't have thief leveled yourself and none are available on the auction house.
- Gnole Claws can also be obtained through Campaign Battles.
