The Battle
This is a two phase encounter.
- In all phases, the Shadow Lord is susceptible to Bind, Gravity and Slow.
- Takes dramatically reduced damage from all elemental magic except light.
- Takes 90% reduced damage from darkness elemental magic.
- Possesses the Arcana Killer trait.
Phase One
The Shadow Lord will rotate between two modes, each reducing magic damage or physical damage taken to 0. Used TP moves vary depending on the current mode.
TP Moves
- Umbra Slash - AOE physical damage. Used only when immune to physical damage.
- Damning Edict - AOE darkness damage + Curse. Used only when immune to physical damage.
- Giga Slash - Wave of physical damage in front. Used only when immune to magical damage.
- Swath of Silence - AOE physical damage and silence. Used only when immune to magical damage.
- Kick Back - Single target physical damage. Absorbed by Utsusemi.
Spells
Once the Shadow Lord has been reduced to 0 health, a cutscene will play and the next phase will begin
Phase Two
The boss will spend this entire phase spamming one of two TP Moves in rapid succession. It will not cast spells or auto-attack. At 1HP, The Shadow Lord will finish whatever TP move they were readying before going down.
TP Moves
- Implosion - AOE darkness damage
- Bowels of Agony - AOE physical damage
Spells
- None
The fight ends when the boss is brought to 0 health in Phase Two.
Treasure
Two type of reward is granted; a personal pool, that drop directly on every players; and a regular treasure pool, than players can cast lot or pass items.
- Please note that the difficulty chose will have a direct impact on the quantities and item type that will drop.

- 1 random Rem's Tale Chapter (6-10) will drop on Very Easy.
- 2 random Rem's Tale Chapter (6-10) will drop on Easy and Normal.
- 3 random Rem's Tale Chapter (6-10) will drop on Difficult.
- 3 random Rem's Tale Chapter (6-10) will drop on Very Difficult.

Notes
Shadow Lord phantom gem is required to enter. It can only be acquired by players level 95+ who have completed the previous mission of the battlefield. The gems can be purchased from the following NPCs for 10 merit points and are consumed on entry.
- Trisvain in Northern San d'Oria (J-7)
- Raving Opossum in Port Bastok (J-11)
- Mimble-Pimble in Port Windurst (L-5)
- Players can choose from a varied degree of difficulty; harder modes allow for greater rewards.
