More on Weapon Skills (Response)

Now that I've finally figured out how to make bullets (wiki newb), I've been working on changing all the tabs on the weapon skill pages I've made to bullets. Its a tedious and boring process, and I don't like doing it one bit, but I'm just really picky about content consistency and things like that. Sooner or later I might develop some compulsive desire to re-format and template all the job abilities and job traits, but for now I'm just going to work on Weapon Skills.

Your idea about adding the levels for which jobs obtain each weapon skill at what level is a good one, and I've thought about it a few times but never could figure out how best to format the information into each page. Now that I've figured out how to make bullets, I think it can be done easily. Due to lack of time, however, I don't think I'm going to do it all by myself. I also predict that adding such information to each page is going to be just as boring and tedious as changing tabs to bullets ><. I really want to just get weapon skills done with and move on to other categories and sections.

In the future more information can be added to each weapon skill page as well, as I was thinking along the lines of "Common Skillchain Usage" and general notes. Again, being the only person (I think) working on the 125 weapon skill pages is tedious, and I will need help if this is to be realized.

As an administrator, maybe you can help out by putting this "project" as a Current event? I see that page has always been blank since I've first come across this site, but I think it has some potential. For example, "CURRENT EVENT - Help add job levels to weapon skill pages! Follow the following format: _____"

That would help a lot :)

Oh, and I would just like to express my appreciation for your handling of the Great Katana case, as it was really my fault to begin with (I had no idea that my moving the content to a category was such a big thing).

Outlands Quests

I don't think Selbina and Mhaura quests count as Outlands Quests in one's quest menu. They're always displayed under "Other Areas" in the game.

Re: Categories

While I can understand your downside a little bit, I don't see -any- problem with having 50, 100, 500 or even 1000's of categories. Things in FFXI just happen to work that way. AF3 quests are Quests (in the categorical sense) and are also Artifact Quests (in the categorical sense). It turns out that Artifact Quests are also Quests (in the categorical sense) -- make it a sub category. Having families as categories allows easy collection of mob families into their easy-to-find pages. Nobody has yet dissuaded (or proposed any sensible reason why lots of categories are bad). I can understand why redundant/unnecessary categories are bad -- i.e., "Mythril Dagger" shouldn't be a category., but "Daggers" should.

Thanks for being a little bit more understanding than your counterpart, User:Ganiman

NPCs

Well to make a short story really long ^_^ ...a while ago I went around with level 1/fame 1 characters from each city to collect the base prices of everything so I could make a pricing guide - thena s I was finishing, somepage came out with their new sitr that already had most of that -.- This is my original page: Vana'diel Price List

I did take the boat at one point and gather prices from those NPCS, and the names I saw were Maera and Rajmonda. This is furhter supported by somepage who has a page for Maera and Rajmonda. However, if you do an NPC search on somepage for Chhaya or Lokhong, you get nothing.

On allakhazam's site its the opposite - the have an entry for Chhaya and Lokhong, bot none for Maera or Rajmonda.

Maybe I should run to the boat today.
