I'm kind of iffy about putting too many columns in one table. I'm used to taking the assumption that websites should be designed with the 800x600 resolution user in mind, so having too much width may be a bad thing. I'll play around with trying to fit the charts into the weapon type pages, though. The other thing is that if we do that there may no longer be any point in clicking on specific weapon skill pages.

I know it's a pain, but I really think we need to change everything that says "Weapon Skills" to "Weapon Skills". I'm going to see if I can find a way to automate this. This can't be the first time this has been done in a wiki. The auto-translate function in the game calls it "Weapon Skills" and it really is two words, not one. This is partially my own fault. -Gani

I wrote a good query that fixed every occurance in the database to change. Check it out! I did't even have to go through all the pages. If you find anything else like this, let me know and I can do it very easily now. -Gani

Where do you see that a lot of pages seem to link to it? Clear your web browser's cache and try it again, then give me an example.

I see what you mean, that part of the database never got updated. I'll work on it. If you go to the pages that in the "What Links Here" page, you'll see they don't actually link there at all. I'll take care of it.

The "What Links Here" page is doing just the opposite for the new category name. The list will not populate properly until either I figure out another query to write, or you simply go to edit the page and just save it.

I checked it out, it would be a really difficult query to write. Over time, it should just fix itself as people update the pages.

Clear your web browser's cache and reload the wiki. Then look at the links to the left that I added. I've got the atlas site there. Then go to http://www.ffxi-atlas.com and look at his links to the right. I made him a small banner and he linked to us. Got to get some more PR. -Gani

that url is acutally a DNS redirect to their webhost's assigned address. it seems to break/be broken alot. i remember reading in their news somwhere that you should just use the actuall address http://maps.all-manga.net if you have problems. --UberFuzzy 08:59, 29 Mar 2005 (PST)

My opinion on this whole copyright thing is...

Anything you find on Alla, will more than likely not be backed up by the law as being copyright of whoever wrote it. It's a forum. You're using an alias. You're writing about a piece of software that is legally protect and owned by Square Enix. Click Disclaimers on the bottom. According to Square and their Playonline community web site guidelines, that's all I need to post information and images about the game. First off, ALL images of things from the game are owned by Square. Period. And you're not supposed to use them without being an approved POL community site. I've got that done, so no worries there. As for copying a guide from some thread on Alla? Sure, I'd like to see people give credit where it's due, but in all honesty, I seriously doubt their work will be protected by the law. I don't want to give this wiki a reputation for being a collection of stolen work either. I had the GPL copyright on the bottom of the site before the upgrade, but I wasn't sure how that would work with Square's own copyright, so I didn't put it back. A wiki is pretty much an honor system. Even http://www.wikipedia.com can contain numerous plagerized works. Without consulting a lawyer (Mierin???) I don't think it's wise to put any other copyright/whatever on the site unless it's from Square.
