A concept that we may wanna try for a week or so

I think we need to look at something I see far too often occuring in the Wikipedia. A sometimes acceptance of false information and many articles that are made with 'filler' type data.

I will confess, im somewhat to blame on a few, on my Warrior guide for a few items I put merely the stats of the item with no further information so someone if looking at the guide would know what the item does. However, I did this on the concept long ago that someone would fix this.

We need to take a new approach for awhile, I love the mass of new data poping up, and most of it is constructed with all the information a person could ask for. However, we have alot of older articles filled with false information or information that is far outdated.

What I believe we should do is advocate a 'improve the quality' concept for a month or so. Advocating people to do something such as merely click on random page, and if seeing that the article lacks good or valid information, to ask them to improve what exists. Or another example, to just search the wikipedia be clicking on link after link and seeing whats there.

We must immagine the Wiki as a rope of knowledge, its wonderful that the rope at this end is shiny and new, but the rope we started with is beginning to become unravled and old. We need to reenforce the foundation to keep moving forward.

I can change all those typos, but I'll have to re-teach myself how to do it. It's not hard, just going to require 5 minutes of googling. If I don't have it done by the end of the holidays, bug me about it. Ganiman 08:02, 23 Dec 2005 (PST)
