Fixing accidental errors
I noticed you were correcting something on the blood pact articles, if you accidentally remove something that causes the formatting to mess up, you can do one of two things:
- If you haven't saved yet, hit the edit button and try making your edit again.
- If you already saved, instead of trying to figure out what you did wrong and escalating the problem, you can click the history, click the last "good" version, then try your edit again.
Hope this helps! --User:Charitwo/Sig 19:22, 19 July 2007 (CDT)
Sniffling Skull
It's fine for now, just at a {{Picture Replace|Altered font}} to it so others can see it needs to be replaced. --User:Charitwo/Sig 17:31, 16 September 2007 (CDT)
Re: New Template
We're all here on volunteer time. No one person is designated to creating templates on request. You'll have to either find someone willing to take up the project, or take the project up yourself and create a Template others can use. If you need editing help, I'd suggest taking it to the community forums. You may be able to find someone willing to make it themselves, or collaborate with you to create the type of template you're looking for. Hope that helps. --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 00:43, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
On a side note, you might want to adjust your custom signature to point to your new FFXI-Attila userpage and talk page. Anyone trying to reply to you with your sig will currently be replying on a blank talk page, and you won't receive the message o.O --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 00:47, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
We do not have any guides on designing templates, unfortunately. Best I can do is give you some info on how they basically work. I don't know how much you already know, so I'll be regurgitating what I think the most relevant info to someone just learning. I'm assuming your template will require some input, as it's tracking progress.
Here's a template {{Example|a|b|c}} with three inputs. Each time you use the the piping character "|", it tells your template to expect a new input. To get your template to utilize these inputs, you can place {{{1}}}, {{{2}}}, {{{3}}} in the template where you want them to appear. The numbers in between the the triple brackets represent the order in which the information was input. So in the case of the example, "a" would be placed where {{{1}}} is.
This is Example template code<br>
1 = {{{1}}}<br>
2 = {{{2}}}<br>
3 = {{{3}}}<br>
If you input {{Example|Purple|Monkey|Dishwasher}}, then the template would spit out the following:
This is Example template code
1 = Purple
2 = Monkey
3 = Dishwasher
Hope this covers the basics for you. --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 13:38, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Assault Checklist
It wasn't displaying correctly because you borked the template, should be fixed now. --User:Charitwo/Sig 22:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I see what happened now, although I'm not sure why. It must be because the template itself is transcluded on the page. I added a code to prevent section editing to your subpage to prevent it from accidentally happening again. Just choose the option to edit the entire page. --User:Charitwo/Sig 15:40, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
User Subpages
It seems not all your pages were moved to your new username, this should all be fixed now. The reason it did not link to your userpage was because the userpage did not exist. Everything should be OK now. --User:Charitwo/Sig 15:40, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
The founders and administrators of FFXIclopedia and Eorzeapedia, together with the podcast gurus over at Pet Food Alpha, Limit Break Radio and the Aetheryte Radio Network - are excited to announce their newest project - Gamerescape.com. Gamer Escape draws upon, and expands on, our collective experiences. We're combining the wiki platforms where you can get your information, podcasting platforms where you can listen to your favorite podcasting personalities, wordpress/news platform so you can quickly see what is going on with your favorite game, and of course, forums to allow you to discuss everything game related with the community.
What does that mean for FFXIclopedia?
We've copied the FFXIclopedia wiki content over to Gamerescape in order to seed and expand upon the wiki over there. FFXIclopedia will, of course, remain at Wikia and remain open and available for editing. To be clear, while there have been a few rather public departures from Wikia in the past few months, they are not a factor in our decision. The reality is that Wikia provides a great service for wikis and was a fine home for the past few years. They allow anyone with one click to try their hand at starting a wiki and a community. That is invaluable and, looking at Wikia's growth, has served them well. In light of some the recent public departures, we feel it was important to make this clear.
We are making this announcement because (i) we are truly excited about what we're launching; and (ii) you, the community, should know that the founders and some of the current admins and moderators will not be here, but will be developing the FFXI wiki/forums over at gamerescape.
What else is over at Gamerescape?
In addition to the content from the FFXIclopedia wiki, we have integrated Eorzeapedia - so all of your FFXI and FFXIV information is on the same site, just a click or two away. Also, in addition to FFXI and FFXIV, we've launched WakfuEscape, a platform dedicated to the upcoming Wakfu MMO (distributed by Square Enix). Complete with news platforms, forums and podcasts - we're continuing in our efforts to provide a site where you can get all of your gaming information without having to jump from site to site.
We've learned a lot since 2004 when we started FFXIclopedia, a lot of which is reflected in our new FFXIV and Wakfu wikis. We remain nothing more than a group of gamers at heart who enjoy playing games and helping the community develop a resource for those games. We're looking forward to continuing that effort over at GamerEscape.com. We hope to see all of you there.
PS. For those that have an Eorzeapedia.com account - your log-in credentials should work at any GamerEscape.com site.
