Donkysan was my second mule. It was created shortly after Donkybas and together with two more, new mules: Donkywin and Donkyjeu. The idea behind these new mules was to have a local vendor/seller in each of the big cities (Bastok, San d'Oria, Windurst and Jeuno), so it would be easier for my main (Demetress) to obtain stuff from in-town merchants, vendors and guild shops, and access to the four Auction Houses to be able to buy/sell stuff I needed/crafted in the city that offered the best prices.
As with Donkybas, Donkysan was first forced to level a job to about 10 (MNK) and to get her fame up to level 7 in her home town (San d'Oria) so she too could complete all of the Moogle Quests. Not long after, she got her fame up to level 9 to get the best possible prices with local vendors and merchants.
By this time, the idea had formed in my head to get each possible craft up to level 100. Since this clearly required dedicated mules, and since Donkysan was based in San d'Oria, Woodworking was chosen to be her dedicated craft, mainly because at that time there was still gil to be earned in making ammo (arrows, bolts) and I needed Woodworking to make some of the fishing rods my main used to skill up fishing. Also the Woodworking guild is based in San d'Oria and there is the very nice merchant in Carpenter's Landing, accessible right from the Northern San d'Oria area. Because of the danger of traveling in Carpenter's Landing, Donkybas soon leveled up to MNK20/WAR10, so she could defend herself against the nasty Orcs on her way to the shopping mall.

The founders and administrators of FFXIclopedia and Eorzeapedia, together with the podcast gurus over at Pet Food Alpha, Limit Break Radio and the Aetheryte Radio Network - are excited to announce their newest project - Gamerescape.com. Gamer Escape draws upon, and expands on, our collective experiences. We're combining the wiki platforms where you can get your information, podcasting platforms where you can listen to your favorite podcasting personalities, wordpress/news platform so you can quickly see what is going on with your favorite game, and of course, forums to allow you to discuss everything game related with the community.
What does that mean for FFXIclopedia?
We've copied the FFXIclopedia wiki content over to Gamerescape in order to seed and expand upon the wiki over there. FFXIclopedia will, of course, remain at Wikia and remain open and available for editing. To be clear, while there have been a few rather public departures from Wikia in the past few months, they are not a factor in our decision. The reality is that Wikia provides a great service for wikis and was a fine home for the past few years. They allow anyone with one click to try their hand at starting a wiki and a community. That is invaluable and, looking at Wikia's growth, has served them well. In light of some the recent public departures, we feel it was important to make this clear.
We are making this announcement because (i) we are truly excited about what we're launching; and (ii) you, the community, should know that the founders and some of the current admins and moderators will not be here, but will be developing the FFXI wiki/forums over at gamerescape.
What else is over at Gamerescape?
In addition to the content from the FFXIclopedia wiki, we have integrated Eorzeapedia - so all of your FFXI and FFXIV information is on the same site, just a click or two away. Also, in addition to FFXI and FFXIV, we've launched WakfuEscape, a platform dedicated to the upcoming Wakfu MMO (distributed by Square Enix). Complete with news platforms, forums and podcasts - we're continuing in our efforts to provide a site where you can get all of your gaming information without having to jump from site to site.
We've learned a lot since 2004 when we started FFXIclopedia, a lot of which is reflected in our new FFXIV and Wakfu wikis. We remain nothing more than a group of gamers at heart who enjoy playing games and helping the community develop a resource for those games. We're looking forward to continuing that effort over at GamerEscape.com. We hope to see all of you there.
PS. For those that have an Eorzeapedia.com account - your log-in credentials should work at any GamerEscape.com site.
