Food! yes.. food. After talking with various new players, I have learned that a lot do not know how to use food effectively. From the "d00nz" to the caves, people are using food, but unaware of their options.

Some foods will add to a stat in a varying amount listed as a %. The amount of the stat they add will be calculated based on your current stat value.
For a fast math example, Peanut Butter Sandwich has listed 10% Attack. If your attack value on your equipment screen is 120, then eating a Peanut Butter Sandwich will add 12 attack (10% of 120).

Food that adds a percentage to a stat also has a maximum of how much it will add. This is listed on each food's page by the line: (Cap: # @ different# Base Whatever), written after the attack % it adds.
Peanut Butter Sandwich is listed as (Cap: 30@300Base Attack). The most attack you can get from eating a Peanut Butter Sandwich is +30 attack. Handily that it also lists this will happen when your base attack is 300.

Why does this make a difference when selecting what food to eat? Recently while forming a party in Kazham, I invited a Dark Knight and he began compairing stats with me. I, currently as a Warrior, mentioned I was eating Dhalmel Pie. He asked me why, because the cheap Rarab Meatballs he was eating lasted for 3 hours and gave him +30% attack.
Hmmm. Poor guy was getting +20 attack due to him being well above the cap for Rarab Meatball, whereas I was getting about +34 from a food that "only" gives +25%.
Now, I'm all for eating what you like, as long as you know what the effects really are. He was duped by the big numbers listed by the food and went with the largest one. He didn't know about food effect caps. If he said something like "Oh, this is leftover from skilling up cooking", or "The Auction House was empty of the food I wanted", I can understand that.

Attack foods

Food that is known for adding Attack are mostly found under Meat Dishes, collectively known as "eating meat".
