As a wee child, I grew up in Ohio. I wanted to try and create a name that was representative of this. I tried a few names, randomed a few names, nothing. A friend came knocking on my door and and said, "Oh, hi...etc. etc." which struck a cord with me. A lot of people I grew up with liked to say "hey" when they greeted one another, so I incorporated that into "O-hey-o" (since O-hi-o was taken). This is how Oheyo was e-born.
My reason for playing this game that has no ending
///put in here when I started, why I started, and any influences that have affected my starting to play FFXI///
What got me into this game
I have been a fan of Final Fantasy games since the very first release waaaaaay back when NES released Final Fantasy. I remember standing in line at Children's Palace for over 8 hours to get the 1st copy. I skipped school and had my dad sign the excused slip and also had him drive me there (he also got us breakfast while I waited in line). I was able to stay awake long enough to get the first copy sold. I napped on the drive home, and statyed awake for what seemed like 3 days playing that game until I got sooooo tired that I passed out from exhaustion. I have since just waited for the inventory stock to be refilled and purchase a copy normally, but that first Final Fantasy event will always be a memory for me.
As for Final Fantasy XI and why I continue to login--I guess that would have to be for the challenge of seeing exactly how many "things" I can complete. I have devoted countless days to borish thoughts about "What to do next?" or "What if I...?" that it has become evident that I am truly addicted to this game--not in a family-destroying, gain 1,000-pounds, eat nothing but packaged food and delivery kinda way, but in a way that I enjoy daily interactions (even when there is nothing going on).
My time in Vana’diel
What I like to do varies on my current "To-Do" list. Which varies greatly from leveling a job, seriously leveling a job, completing quests, getting quest items, assisting others in getting quest items, mission completion, assisting others in mission completion, or just conversating with other linkshell members about how they are doing. I like chatting with linkshell members the most. Sometimes they get frustrated or upset about different things. I like to (sometimes sarcastically) remind them that this is only a game and that there will be another time to complete whatever the issue is. Other times, it is a friendship thing. people just get on to see what's new, where they can go, what others have accomplished, etc. I get alot of help because I do not have a problem asking for help. Usually this is in hopes of getting others to want the same thing, other times it is just to ✓ off my checklist. But, no matter the reason, I find it enjoyable to interact with many many people in Vanad'iel.
