Trial by Wind/Strategies

SMN75/BLM37 --- The fight took me about 20 minutes but was actually rather easy. I arrived there on Iceday, wearing regular Artifact armor except the Evoker's Doublet, which I replaced with an Austere Robe to reduce my avatar perpetuation cost. To further reduce it, I equipped the Astral Signa weapon. I also brought a Vile Elixir and a Vile Elixir +1 to regain enough MP when needed. Finally, I had accumulated a certain number of Merits (in general and SMN-specific categories), which didn't hurt. Starting from the crystal, I went halfway up the hill, summoned Carbuncle, and activated Astral Flow. Once Garuda Prime was within range, I ordered Carbuncle to assault and while he went ahead, I ran back down to the crystal and waited safely there until Garuda defeated Carbuncle. As soon as she did, I resummoned Carbuncle who attacked Garuda once she was within range. I waited a bit until their fight was underway (if you follow Carbuncle too quickly, Garuda may target you instead), ran past them and up the hill to Garuda's nest and waited there until Carbuncle was defeated again. At that point, I resummoned Carbuncle, and so on. Once my MP were down to about 200, I used the Elixir, and when the MP were down again to 200, the Elixir +1. So basically, with patience and correct timing, I managed to win this fight solo at 75 without using trusts (they're not allowed here), complex strategies, or the hard-to-get Carbuncle's Mitts (if you already have them though, the Elixirs might not be necessary). I chose BLM subjob as it gave me the most MP overall (and easy warping after the fight) but I didn't use spells.
