Steamed Rams/Plot Details

Mainchelite: Let me see your letter of recommendation...Ah, yes, this will do.

Mainchelite: I must inform you, once you begin the initiation, you will be bound to San d'Oria. Other nations will not accept you into their ranks while your bonds to the Kingdom remain intact. Forget this not.

Mainchelite: And so now I must ask, do you pledge to serve the king and his people with your life and honor?

Pledge allegiance to San d'Oria?

Yes.

--->No.

Mainchelite: Then I can assist you no longer. Begone.

Pledge allengiance to San d'Oria?

--->Yes.

No.

Mainchelite: You shall now be granted the opportunity to prove your worth. Only after you have done so will you be admitted to the ranks of the Rams.

Mainchelite: Now let us begi--

Hestrefalcat: Did you not witness the conflagration that scorched the early-morning heavens?

Hestrefalcat: The Bastokan heretics have once again defied the laws of the benevolent Altana with their godless warmachines.

Minautte: Can you be so certain, Hestrefalcat? To me it closely resembled a great, fiery dragon, diving down to seize her prey.

Minautte: Mayhap it was a wicked omen, portending the advent of a great evil...

Rachelassiond: The eyes of the youth see only that which they wish. 'Twas not a mysterious weapon nor a portent of doom; 'twas the smouldering carcass of a flying wooden beast, I tell you!

Hestrefalcat: Gods forfend! Sir Rachelassiond, are you to have us believe that trees can fly!?

Rachelassiond: Wh-why, I...!

Mainchelite: I apologize for the intrusion. Gossip runs rampant among our ranks, but there is little we can do to stop it. However, this time, there seems to be some truth behind the prattling of the knights, for our scouts also recorded countless sightings of this queer phenomenon.

Mainchelite: Unfortunately, the details contained in these reports were quite sketchy. Some claimed the flames to be a weapon of some sort, while others swore it was a hideous daemon, spawned from the loins of the Shadow Lord himself.

Mainchelite: Whatever the case, it is our duty to determine the truth behind this episode and quell the rumors surrounding it before unwanted panic spreads to the common folk.

Mainchelite: And that shall be your test. I wish you to travel into the nearby holt and search for clues.

Mainchelite: Once you have found at least three leads, report back to me. I shall be waiting here.

Mainchelite(Upon speaking with him again after accepting the quest): How fares the search, "character name"? I will listen to your report once you have found three pieces of conclusive evidence regarding the unidentified object.

Mainchelite: Or perhaps you have found your trial too taxing?

Give up?

--->No!

I have had enough...

Mainchelite: Excellent. I look forward to your findings.

Give up?

No!

--->I have had enough...

Mainchelite: Why, this is most unexpected. Can I not convince you to act otherwise?

It would be a pity to see you go.

--->Alright, I shall try once more.

I am sorry. I cannot continue.

Mainchelite: Excellent. I look forward to your findings.

It would be a pity to see you go.

Alright, I shall try once more.

--->I am sorry. I cannot continue.

Mainchelite: I see... However, I shall not close the gates behind you, "character name". If you ever wish to return, you will be granted another chance to redeem yourself. Fare thee well.

Mainchelite (Upon reapplying after abandoning): Welcome back, "character name"! Have you changed your mind regarding the Knights of the Iron Ram?

Pledge allegiance to San d'Oria?

Yes.

--->No.

Mainchelite: Then I can assist you no longer. Begone.

Pledge allegiance to San d'Oria?

--->Yes.

No.

Mainchelite: Wonderful! Now let us begin your trial.

Mainchelite: First, I regret to say that while we continued our search for clues surrounding the fiery object in your absence, we found nothing of import.

Mainchelite: We would have you return to East Ronfaure and locate any object that may shed light on the mystery before us.

Mainchelite: Once you have found three, bring them back here for inspection.
