Historical Background

The Scultone was a legendary dragon-like reptile living in the middle of Sardinia, exactly near Baunei, in a canyon called "su golgu" (the gorge). It was able to kill the living just by looking at them. According to the legend, it was killed by St. Peter, who reflected the dragon's deadly gaze on itself with a mirror
