Samurai: Extended macros for non windower user's.

Foreword:

Macro Book

Over a year ago the FF 11 development team finally expanded the macro system from one set of 20 macros to 20 books of 10 macros sets, at the same time they added the /macro command, when used properly it will allow you to expand your equip macros or even better organize them.

I'm constructing this guide at the request of friend of mine as a result I'm attempting to make a very basic and unspecific guide to show how you can use the /macro commands to help you expand macros since explaining it over linkshell seemed to be confusing.

Introduction:

Chaining Expanded

There is a wide array of applications for this command, anywhere from changing to your macros for garuda after desummoning your last pet to extending your gear swap macros length, for now lets focus on how one might accomplish extending a macro.

Though I say its extended macros its really 2 macros still however if properly used you only hit the same macro buttons twice in rapid succession.

So you need a home macro set, in this case we'll use 1 as our home row macro:

  • Set 1 CTRL 1:
  • /equip head
  • /equip neck
  • /equip ear1
  • /equip ear2
  • /equip body
  • /macro set 2
  • Set 2 CTRL 1:
  • /equip hands
  • /equip ring1
  • /equip ring2
  • /equip back
  • /equip waist
  • /macro set 3
  • Set 3 CTRL 1:
  • /equip legs
  • /equip feet
  • /equip ammo
  • /macro set 1

In this usually unrealistic situation you would press control 1 3 times and it would swap everything but your main sub and ranged weapon. the final macro would call you back to your home row macro in this case Set 1, typically this is where i set all my job abilities support abilities or assist macros, for my weapon skill macro i generally copy my TP macros and replace the piece names, and on the last macro it would for this examples sake end in /macro set 4, macro set 4 containing all my various weapon skills, for samurai i find this very useful when i want to adapt to my party and SC as often as possible for the extra damage, anyways thats besides the point.

every one of my weapon skill macros bring me back to my home row by ending in /macro set 1, conversely i have a macro on my home row that brings me directly to my ws macro pallet in case of a macro foul up in the case of this example /macro set 4.
