Derivations
In Greek Mythology, this was a sword with a small sickle-like protrusion Perseus used against the Gorgon Medusa, whose visage would turn one into stone if one looked upon it; this weapon's Resist Petrify effect relates to that. Perseus also had a reflective shield called Aegis, which he used to avoid Medusa's petrifying visage, and allow himself to decapitate her while she slept. (Wikipedia)
