Historical Background
In French, the term for candied or glazed chestnuts is "Marron Glacé," with an accent aigu over the final e. Although characters with diacritial marks can be typed in the chat, Final Fantasy XI item names never contain them. This could be misleading because "Glace" with no accent means ice cream.
