Derivations

  • Zoroastrianism: "Magavan" means possessing 'maga' in the Gathic Avestan language (from around 1000BCE). No-one really knows what maga was, but the great prophet Zoroaster proclaimed it was present in himself and all of his followers. Modern Zoroastrians have decided that it means "greatness, magnanimity, generosity", but in Vana'diel it's more likely to mean "High Magical Accuracy And Other Complimentary Boosts".
