Galger

• Involved in Final Fantasy XI's New Year 2010 event for Year of the Tiger.
• Found these guys in East Sarutabaruta. They run all over the entire zone and even can run up hillsides. Wide scan is a life saver if you're out looking for them. They're always on the go and only stop briefly every now and then for usually only 5-8 seconds. I suggest targeting and follow and then spam trade to Galger.

Note: Also appears in Qufim Island. Appears with Taruger. Seems to appear in all major zones.

• By trading items to Galger you may get a New Year's Gift RareEx item which can be traded in, Snowman Knight, Snowman Mage, or Snowman Miner. The snowmen are Rare Exclusive, so you can only obtain one for each character.

• If you keep trading items to Galger he will give you different buffs. Shock Spikes, Enthunder, Protect, Shell, etc.

Talk to one of the Event Starter NPCs in the 3 nations.

• Bring a New Year's Gift to the Event Starter NPC and choose the second option to obtain the Battledore.
• Bunta, Bastok Markets (D-11)
• Jeanparmand, Northern San d'Oria (D-8)
• Pyru-Copyru, Port Windurst (B-4)
  • You need to speak with the event starters to trade the item in, even if you have already obtained a New Year's Gift.

• Note: If you trade the New Year's Gift back to Galger you will receive Fishing Imagery Support, which will last approximately about an hour.
