FFXIclopedia:Site problems

FFXIclopedia was upgraded to MediaWiki 1.12 today. If you notice any error messages, non-working features, or other issues or problems; please post them here. Start a new section for each problem and limit each problem to 1 section. Please be sure to list what, where, when, and how it happened and be as detailed as possible.

Rollback broken

There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please hit "back" and reload the page you came from, then try again.

This message is returned when attempting to rollback any edit on any page at any time. Rollback is unusable. --User:Charitwo/Sig 02:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

this one has been going on for a couple days now, all over wikia. --Uberfuzzy 04:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I just checked rollback on ffxi sandbox and it appears to be working properly, have there been any more reports of issues? -- JaeSharp 06:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Rejected edits

Your edit has been rejected because your client mangled the punctuation characters in the edit token. The edit has been rejected to prevent corruption of the article text. This sometimes happens when you are using a buggy web-based anonymous proxy service.

This happens randomly when attempting to save a page, it occurs anywhere from 1-5 times in a row before a successful save. --User:Charitwo/Sig 02:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Special:MiniUpload

Bad Request

unknown function UploadForm::ajaxGetExistsWarning

This message appears randomly after changing the destination filename.

  • I cannot "select" a type of thumbnail.
  • Nothing happens when pressing "Insert Image" on the image type screen. --User:Charitwo/Sig 02:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Special:Webtools

No data available under stats. --User:Charitwo/Sig 02:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

should resolve after the first cronjob updates the cached data/job queue (eq2's did the same thing) --Uberfuzzy 04:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I filed a new support ticket regarding this specific wiki so we should get some tech attention soon. -- JaeSharp 05:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Seems to be fixed now. --GAHOO t/ c 02:35, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Special Pages Lists

Cannot proceed past 1000 entries regardless of query used, once proceeding past 1000, it claims the page is empty, despite there being more than a 1000. --User:Charitwo/Sig 02:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

dont think this is an upgrade problem, theres a limiter in the settings, its like this everywhere i work on. --Uberfuzzy 04:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Interface glitched

Interface keeps switch back and forth between 1.12 and 1.10 randomly. --User:Charitwo/Sig 06:50, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

May be cookie/cache related. Please clear cookies/cache and screenshot if the problem returns. -- JaeSharp 06:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Running Slow

Website is running slower than normal--Mohanico 06:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm also having this problem, especially when trying to save changes to my userpage. --Urth 18:02, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

It's especially going slow for me today. --FFXI-Melios 18:07, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Running very very slow... can't even work on userpages most of the times. --MXCNLink 22:09, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Edit on User Page will not take

Need I say more? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RollsTRoice (talk • contribs).

Yes, you do. Sign your post and give more details. --Karl1982 15:50, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I've been having a very similar problem to the above poster. I have been attempting to edit my User Page repeatedly the past few days and have been completely unable to do so. Upon trying to post, the page simply hangs. It also hangs when I attempt to "Show Preview" and attempting to "Show Changes" results in nothing where the changes would be located. In addition, within the last few hours, I have been having difficulty in accessing my User Page, needing to hit refresh several times for the page to show. This is happening to both my main page and sub page. I am using Firefox and have cleared my cache. This is not happening anywhere else on the site, as I can access "Show Preview" and "Show Changes" here without any problem and am able to post this message. --Folye 05:58, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

It appears that your page includes templates that contain very large numbers of parser functions which slow down page rendering. I've asked tech to take a look at what could be going on here and to see if they could speed things up. In the mean time you might want to lessen the number of quest checklist templates and such on your page (put them on a subpage perhaps?). -- JaeSharp 06:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Taking your advice, I have attempted to make a new page entitled: Windurst Quest Checklist with a single Checklist on it. The page still hangs when I click "Save Page" nor can I "Show Preview" or "Show Changes". I was however, able to create this page: Bastok Quest Checklist and edit this page: Sandbox without any problems, albeit without any checklists, so it does appear that they are to blame. I also seemed to have no problems making and editing this page: Outpost Checklist, which does have a Checklist on it, but one in a slightly different format and much smaller. The edit I attempted on Quests last night also seems to have been successful, however I never received any confirmation that the edit had been successful until browsing to that page today. --Folye 13:28, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I have been trying to edit my quest pages and have not been able to get the edit to take. This has happened everytime for over a week. Is it me or the site? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carpenter58 (talk • contribs).

Ok, this is from first poster on this incident, LOL... Anyway, it started working as normal again, just rather slow but, tolerable. I'll sign it this time, -- RollsTRoice PS: It is same problem on both Firefox and InternetExplorer so, having said that, its great. Being that I'm teaching this stuff to myself, wth doesn't the page look the same on IE as it does on Firefox?

Search Malfunction

I was trying to look up info on Smalt Leather. As you can see, the article does exist. I typed what I thought would be the address in the address bar, but that didn't work. I thought I had typed it correctly, but I clicked the link on the page to search for smalt leather. No hits of any kind (article or page text). So I double checked my spelling and searched for it from the search box. Still nothing. So I went to the Limbus page and went to the article from the link there, and it was fine. I've tried searching for it as I did before, and now it finds it correctly. --Karl1982 15:50, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

This was most likely a temporary glitch to do with the Job Queue. Problems such as this occur when the job queue gets large or is actively processing link table changes. -- JaeSharp 06:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

difficulty logging in

i have been haveing a great deal of trouble logging into the wiki lately, even the automatically log in, and the emailed password aren't working. It takes about 15 tries all using the same info (resorted to a copy and paste from Notepad just to be sure) just to get in, i've tried using firefox, aol and Microsoft IE 7, all of which exhibit the same problem.--Catharsis of valefor 05:54, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Please post any problems with the conversion from "Plus 1" pages to "+1" and associated links here. --GAHOO t/ c 19:08, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Search bar suggestions

I'm wondering if this is happening for everyone, because I've searched, maybe not hard enough, but couldn't find anything about anyone else having trouble with it. But I'm so used to using the search suggestions from the search bar, like for example if I"m looking for a piece of Iga armor, I'll just start with Iga, and pick the piece from the list that pops up. Can this be fixed, or is this just a problem on my end? If not, I consider this to be in the right section. Teinz, Rag. 6/22/2012 6:15AM

Is is a relief and surprising as well, but I've found out what the problem is. You have to capitalize the word first, or else it wont bring up any suggestions. I have never had to do this before. But after figuring I out, I guess it's only a minor inconvenience. Teinz, Rag. 7/14/2012 9:01AM EST
