Expertise/Plot Details

Take: What? He sent you to Valgeir?
Let me guess: he refused to recognize Rycharde's talents again, right?

Take: Valgeir is Rycharde's father, and one of the best cooks in Vana'diel. He's also a very strict man, especially to his son.

Take: He raised Rycharde to be a great cook like him, but there were some things they could never agree on. In the end, Rycharde ended up leaving home.

Take: Rycharde has worked hard and become a very good cook. Valgeir really should give him some credit. Don't you agree?

Take: But you know what? I wouldn't mind tasting some of Valgeir's cooking someday. I wonder what it's like?

Valgeir: What? You want me to cook something? I'm sure you're up to no good, but as a chef I can't turn you down.

Valgeir: Fine, then! I'll prepare your little dish, but first you must bring me the ingredients I require.

Valgeir: I'll need a scream fungus and a slice of land crab meat. Now, make haste!

(trade him the goods)
Valgeir: Hmph. So you found them, did you? Fine! Come see me tomorrow. It should be ready by then.

(talking to him before its done)
Valgeir: What now? It's not done yet! Don't worry, my dishes are always ready on time.

(talking to him when its done)
Valgeir: Done! Now, take it and get out of here!

Take: And here, take these. It's the least I can do.

(talk to Take after receiving reward)
Take: Thank you for working so hard to help Rycharde. I promise I'll have him taste some of his father's cooking.
