Desires of Emptiness (pt.1) - Promyvion - Vahzl
Yve'noile: I bring thee two children who no longer hear the whisper of the soul.
The boy on the right is Selh'teus. The boy on the left is Nag'molada.
Yve'noile: I beseech the blessings of the king before the commencement of our journey to the city of the Kuluu.
Yve'noile: Thou hast nothing to fear.
Those who receive the blessings of the king may abide in the city of the Kuluu without worry or care.
Yve'noile: We have made a pledge to the Dawn Goddess, Altana.
Yve'noile: We shall make all haste in discovering the cause of thine illness, and return to a world with neither Zilart nor Kuluu.
Yve'noile: Though the whisper of the soul has grown quiet for thee, I ask for thy trust.
Yve'noile: Thou must live as before. Believe in the honesty of people as thou did when their thoughts were open to thee.
Grav'iton: Oho...
Grav'iton: So the living immortals have finally been born among the children of the Dawn...
Grav'iton: Why dost thou seek to show us this vision of Paradise?
This heavenly garden the Zilart believe to be the goal of all on Vana'diel...
Selh'teus: What are we waiting for!?
Gravi'ton, all of us... We should strive for that perfection!
Selh'teus: If we behold that vision, we to can understand what they are aiming for!
Selh'teus: We can join with the Zilart and be whole once more...
Selh'teus: This senseless conflict between us will end!
Grav'iton: Selh'teus...
Selh'teus: What is wrong with all of you?
We have nothing to fear; Diabolos is...
Grav'iton: It is too late, Selh'teus.
We have already fallen.
Our hearts have been stained with corruption.
Selh'teus: It cannot be...!
Nag'molada: Dawnmaiden Yve'noile!
Nag'molada: What are you doing here!?
It is forbidden to enter this place...!
Yve'noile: Nag'molada...
Yve'noile: Why dost thou, a Kuluu, work for the Zilart?
Nag'molada: Lady Yve'noile?
Yve'noile: This battle has gone beyond the point of salvation.
Yve'noile: The killing, the lies, the mistrust--we are no longer capable of understanding one another.
Nag'molada: It's all the fault of the terrestrial avatars.
They are merely using the foolish Kuluu to force the king of the Zilart to keep the Gates of Paradise closed.
Nag'molada: And then there is that traitor, Selh'teus.
Nag'molada: All this blood ha been spilled as a result of him breaking his promise to you!
Yve'noile: Thou dost yet believe in me, Nag'molada?
Yve'noile: Thou dost believe my words, my pledge to return this world to a place with neither Zilart nor Kuluu...?
Nag'molada: Lady Yve'noile, they are calling me a traitor to the Kuluu people.
Nag'molada: However, I never once considered myself to be one of them. I never once considered my actions to be a betrayal.
Nag'molada: I have returned to your side--that is all I have done.
I will never betray your trust in me.
Yve'noile: Even if thou discovers I have betrayed that trust...?
Nag'molada: Lady Yve'noile?
Yve'noile: Not only thee; I intend to betray all the Zilart.
It is because I...
Tenzen: (Player name...)
Louverance: (Where are you...?)
Ulmia: (Help us...)

Desires of Emptiness (pt.2) - Promyvion - Vahzl
Tenzen: Player name!?
Tenzen: So this is Emptiness.
Tenzen: I never believed I would be swallowed into its darkness.
Tenzen: Player name, you have my thanks.
Tenzen: If you hadn't awoken me, I dread to think what would have happened.
Tenzen: But if I am here, it is possible the others have been taken by the Emptiness, as well.
We must look for them.
Desires of Emptiness (pt.3) - Promyvion - Vahzl
Louverance: Player name...?
Louverance: This place...
The spark of life has never flared here, I feel.
Is this what they call "Emptiness"?
Louverance: I knew that if I followed you, something extraordinary was bound to occur.
But this...
Louverance: My mind yet reels from the knowledge that the Zilart and the Kuluu still exist in this world.
The ancient people who tried to open the Gates of Paradise...
Louverance: And to think that the legend of the mothercrystals entombed deep below the surface of Vana'diel was true...
Louverance: I must track down that Jeunoan diplomat, Nag'molada. He and I have much to discuss.
Let us be on our way.
Desires of Emptiness (pt.4) - Promyvion - Vahzl
Ulmia: Player name, is that you...?
Ulmia: Where is Prishe?
Why isn't she here?
Ulmia: Oh, I see...
Our search for her continues.
Ulmia: This may sound strange, Player name, but as I lay dreaming, I am sure I heard Prishe's voice calling to me.
Ulmia: I believe she is somewhere deep in the bowels of this dreadful realm.
Ulmia: Please, Player name. Help me find Prishe.
We must all escape this awful place together...
Desires of Emptiness (pt.2) - Spire of Vahzl
Tenzen: By Altana's tears...!
Tenzen: If we go any further, we will plunge into the Emptiness.
Ulmia: Then we must backtrack and find another path.
Ulmia: Player name, there was something I...
Nag'molada: Ah, good to see you are all safe and well.
Tenzen: Nag'molada!?
Nag'molada: Hrmph...
It seems that Diabolos spoke the truth.
Nag'molada: Although I did think it strange that one could enter the Emptiness without being devoured by its darkness.
Tenzen: You have met with Diabolos!?
Nag'molada: Yes, in his dreamworld of Dynamis.
Nag'molada: He said that if I helped you, Player name, we would find a way out of this place.
Tenzen: Help Player name?
Nag'molada: Does the exit lie in this direction?
- Is the exit up ahead?
- Yes. <----- Chose this option!
- No.
Nag'molada: Well then, step aside.
There is little light remaining within this vessel.
- Is the exit up ahead?
- Yes.
- No. <----- Chose this option!
Nag'molada: You should not embarrass yourself with petty lies.
Now step aside. There is little light remaining within this vessel.
Nag'molada: Selh'teus...
As long as I have breath in my body, I will find you. No matter what it takes...!
Desires of Emptiness (pt.3) - Spire of Vahzl
Nag'molada: A dead end...?
Nag'molada: Show yourself, Selh'teus!
Desires of Emptiness (pt.4) - Spire of Vahzl
Tenzen: Lord Diabolos...?
Ulmia: Prishe!
Diabolos: So we meet again, he who is one with Selh'teus...
Diabolos: Now that the light of the fourth crystal has been robbed, it will not be long before this land is infested by the Emptiness.
Diabolos: I fear that it may be impossible to thwart the plans of Selh'teus. If I had only realized earlier what he was attempting...
Nag'molada: Diabolos!
Are you saying that you know what he is up to?
Tenzen: Is he truly planning to thrust Vana'diel into the abyss of the Emptiness?
Diabolos: That may be the ultimate result of his actions; however, I do not feel it was his original intention.
Diabolos: No, I learned the true ambition of Selh'teus in the form if a dream--the dream of this girl.
Diabolos: Selh'teus has come from Al'Taieu on a mission o protect the celestial capital.
Nag'molada: From where!?
Nag'molada: That is ridiculous! The celestial capital was destroyed without a trace when the Zilart tried opening the Gates of Paradise over ten thousand years ago!
Diabolos: Child of the Kuluu, Al'Taieu was not destroyed as you thought. It still remains intact--its residents alive--resting in a safe place.
Nag'molada: A safe place...?
Diabolos: Beyond the fifth crystal.
Diabolos: Player name...
Search out the final mothercrystal. There you will find the truth you seek.
Tenzen: I do not understand... Are you saying that there is a hidden realm beyond the fifth crystal?
Louverance: And the Gates of Paradise... They could also be...
Diabolos: Hah hah hah! Foolish children! Do you still aimlessly seek the dream of Paradise?
Diabolos: I must warn you. It is not your will that guides you to the gates...but the will of Promathia.
Louverance: !?
Diabolos: You and every other soul on this world are slaves to the will of the Twilight God.
Diabolos: And that is why Bahamut, keeper of the Gates of Paradise, has set out to destroy you.
Ulmia: The will of Promathia...?
Promathia's curse on mankind...?
Tenzen: So, the true reason Bahamut has deemed us his enemy lies in the curse...
Tenzen: Lord Diabolos! Is there any way to break these chains that bind us?
Diabolos: There is...one way...
Long ago, remnants of the Kuluu came to me and asked me to release them from the chains of Promathia.
Diabolos: I did as they asked...
However, the result was tragic. The Kuluu lost their original selves...
Nag'molada: ...
Diabolos: Children of Vana'diel!
Promathia's curse is necessary for the survival of your species. Without it you would be nothing.
Diabolos: It is only a curse because that is the name you have given it. It is only your chains because that is what you make of it.
Tenzen: However, if we are not purified of this "curse," whether it is one or not, there is no avoiding a battle with the Wyrmking!
Tenzen: And even if we are victorious...there is no stopping the Emptiness from swallowing all life in Vana'diel!
Diabolos: There are no roads left for you to travel...
Phoenix has been reduced to a mere fragment of her former self, while Fenrir, guardian of tomorrow, remains powerless.
Diabolos: And Carbuncle, bringer of rainbows, still ponders over whether to lend his hand to your cause.
Diabolos: This is because he realizes that he cannot save both of you. He must choose one: mankind or Vana'diel.
Diabolos: We must learn from Selh'teus and the mistake he has made.
In attempting to save both sides, he only caused them much pain.
???: But that does not take away from the fact that he tried!
Ulmia: Prishe...?
Prishe: Diabolos!
If you had anything close to a soul, you'd know that pain comes with the package. There's no way around it, but it makes us who we are!
Prishe: You're nothing but an empty shell. What happened to your soul!?
Prishe: If you're going to live your life in fear of hurting someone, then you'll never be able to save anything!
Diabolos: You know nothing, girl...
Diabolos: If you are so adamant about your cause, then why not carry the pain of Vana'diel on your own?
Diabolos: Sacrifice yourself for this world and its children! If you die, Bahamut's pact would be broken and Vana'diel would be saved!
Prishe: ...!
Break the pact...
Why didn't I think of that...?
Prishe: Kill...the Keeper of the Apocalypse...
Desires of Emptiness - Beaucedine Glacier
Cherukiki: Hey, I found something!
Kukki-Chebukki: You found something?
Makki-Chebukki: Show me, show me, show me!
Cherukiki: No, wait. It's a body!
Kukki-Chebukki: Just a body?
Why does this keep happening to us?
Makki-Chebukki: We gotta go tell someone!
But before we do... <rustle, rustle>
The mysterious amulet has been stolen!
Nag'molada: You three!?
The mysterious amulet was returned to you!
Makki-Chebukki: Mister Nag'molada!
Makki-Chebukki: We're glad to see you're okay!
Kukki-Chebukki: Lady Esha'ntarl was s~o worried about you!
Cherukiki: We were s~o worried about you, too!
Nag'molada: I don't need your platitudes!
What I need to know is why you three activated the ruins of Pso'Xja!
Nag'molada: Do you realize what you've done!?
Or were you just causing trouble as usual?
Cherukiki: It wasn't like that!
Kukki-Chebukki: It was Lady Esha'ntarl!
Makki-Chebukki: She asked the adventurers to do it!
Nag'molada: This is Esha'ntarl's doing?
Nag'molada: What could she be up to?
Did she activate the ruins to seal Diabolos? Or could it be...?
Cherukiki: Mister Nag'molada was really mad!
Kukki-Chebukki: Mister Nag'molada had steam coming out of his ears!
Makki-Chebukki: What do we do?
We didn't get the chance to tell him about Prishe.
She's still lying in front of that tower over there.
Makki-Chebukki: But even if we leave her like that, she probably won't die.
Kukki-Chebukki: But if Prishe finds us, we definitely WILL die.
Cherukiki: Which means...
Makki-Chebukki: We leave her like that and stay alive!
Nag'molada: So the fifth crystal is in Al'Taieu...
Desires of Emptiness - Beaucedine Glacier
Potete: Guess what? The guy that brought the girl to us--I saw him asking some adventurers to take him to Bastok! He said he was looking for his companions and that it was urgent!
Potete: I wonder why he lied to Torino and said that he was going to travel north. My mommy-wommy told me that only thieves and criminals lie...
Torino-Samarino: Huh? A girl? Some Elvaan guy brought a dead-looking girl to us. Is that the one?
Torino-Samarino: Well, she was frozie-wozen to the bone, so we helped her out!
Torino-Samarino: The Elvaan was in too much of a hurry to wait for us to revive the girl, and headed off to the north by himself. Not very considerate, if you ask me!
Leigon-Moigon: That Louverance fellow. This wasn't the first time we'd seen him. He's been around here before, pokey-woking his needly nose into our busy-bodied business.
Leigon-Moigon: I think Potete has the hots for him, but that's probably just because she's looking for something to keep her warm up here in the freezing-wheezing cold.
