• While active, all physical attacks directed at the target will instead become directed at the user, as long as the covered target stands directly behind the user.
• Raises enmity towards the Paladin and lowers enmity towards the party member under attack.
• If Gallant Coronet is equipped, user will have magical attacks redirected to them as well.
• If Valor Surcoat is equipped, 20% of the damage taken while covering a target will be converted to MP.
• Activates the Latent effect on Save the Queen for accuracy +20.
• Activates the Latent effect on Volitional Mantle for VIT+10.
• Merits increase duration by 4 seconds per upgrade.
  • As of the July 11, 2011 update, duration now takes into account the Paladin's Vitality.
• It is possible to Counter while covering another player as Monk/Paladin or as Paladin/Monk.

One of the most useful Job Abilities that you obtain, "Cover" makes it so whoever you use it on doesn't take physical damage while you stand between them and the enemy. This is useful for saving the White Mage.
