The Sword of Light or Claidheamh Soluis (Old Irish) appears in folktales as a quest object or in a "hopeless-seeming, quasi-bridal-quest." It has properties such as shining brilliantly when called upon, and screaming when someone other than its owner touches it (Wikipedia).
