Category talk:Replacements

Do we really need this and {{outdated}} (leads to Category:Outdated Articles)? --Gahoo 15:38, 15 August 2006 (EDT)

Probably not. It makes sense to merge one into the other. --Enfield 15:46, 15 August 2006 (EDT)

Well, I don't think either category (and I created both) would work if it was merged, so perhaps we should create a new category with a better name, change the templates to point to it, then delete category:replacements and category:outdated articles. On the same note, do we need separate categories for article deletion and image deletion? Its the same function between outdated and replacement, since outdated is mostly for outdated articles (and sometimes pictures), and replacement is for pictures. Also, one is for articles with incorrect info, and the other is for images that fall below image standards, which could be correct info, but just a bad pic. --Chrisjander 18:32, 15 August 2006 (EDT)

I think {{Picture Replace}} is sufficient since it allows for a reason. So the reason for the replacement is "Outdated" in updated circumstances.

As for {{tl|Delete}} vs. {{tl|Category-Delete}} vs. {{tl|Image-Delete}}. They are needed to ensure that the talk page is appropriately linked inside the template. Technically we probably need a {{tl|Template-Delete}} and {{tl|User-Delete}} as well. They all use the same AfD category though. --Gahoo 09:48, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

So with {{Outdated}} fixed, is this issue resolved? We keep both? --Chrisjander 09:50, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

I don't follow. How is {{Outdated}} fixed? --Gahoo 09:51, 16 August 2006 (EDT)
