Geodes are stackable (99) items are used in Magian Trials to upgrade certain weapons, as well as in synthesis to make certain jewels.

They are dropped by various high-level monsters on the corresponding day and/or weather.

They seem to be dropped by exp-yielding monsters over level 50 that are also able to drop seals and crystals.

Confirmed to drop from normal monsters in Abyssea on the corresponding day.

Also note there may be a 5 minute gap in between drops; so for instance 1 geode drops wait 5 minutes another will be capable of dropping.
