Background Info
The Cornish "bucca" is a male water spirit or merman, and a sea god. The Irish version "púca" is a shape-shifting spirit or fairy, who can be either good or bad. "Alp-luachra" (or "joint-eater") is an Irish newt-like fairy not unlike a tapeworm, crawling in your open mouth while you sleep near a river, then eating food you ingest, causing starvation.
