Translation
Although translated as "Blade: " this weapon skill is not actually named as such.
The original Japanese for this weapon skill is: 生者必滅 (shouja hitsumetsu).
Shouja hitsumetsu means "all living things must die."[1] The term is found in the Daihatsu nehankyō shūge (大般涅槃経集解, lit. Commentaries on sutras), a commentary on the Nirvana Sutra and refers to the ephemeral nature of life.
This saying has also been translated as "doom of the living" in other installations of Final Fantasy entries, most notably as Yuffie's Limit of the same name.
