Banishing the Echo/Plot Details

Mathilde: ...

Aldo: Emeline! Please...

Aldo: The war ended years ago... There's nothing for you to fear anymore.

Aldo: Open your eyes, Emeline! Free yourself from the nightmares of the past!

Aldo: Emeline!

Mathilde: Aldo...

Mathilde: Aldo...!? It really...it really is you, Aldo!

Aldo: Urghhhhhh!

Mathilde: Aldo! No!

Young Aldo: I'm afraid there's only room for one Aldo here.

Young Aldo: This is where we say farewell...dear uncle.

Innocent blood spills forth onto the plains of Vana'diel.
The world shudders as she is thrust into chaos and despair.
Neither power nor destiny...
...can bring and end to what has already begun.

Aldo: Wh-who... What are you!?

Mathilde: Aldo... This is--

???: The prophesied time is now at hand. Behold your fate, foolish mortals...

Seed Crystal: So you are the ones who would seek to reverse irreversible fate. To undo that which cannot be undone...

Seed Crystal: You are the ones who would forsake the very love that begot you...and for what?

Seed Crystal: For you pathetic material attachment to a world that was never yours to claim.

Seed Crystal: What sad, piteous creatures you are. You...like this child...cling feebly to your transitory dreams, never realizing that you are but pawns in a game played by powers far beyond your comprehension.

Seed Crystal: But it matters little.

Seed Crystal: Just as a few grains of sand cannot stand against the roaring tide, nor blades of grass against the gusting winds... A smattering of voices cannot drown out the echo of a thousand ages.

Seed Crystal: The prophecy will be fulfilled; the light of this world, extinguished. Your role in this story has come to an end.

But as one bright star shines through the clouds at night...
And as one song rings clear above the roar of beasts...
We hold to one hope in these darkest of times.
That star is you, and the song is yours.
And someday, that hope will become our dreams...
Our prayers...
Shine forth, star of hope!
Let your song ring out across all of Vana'diel!
By the strength of our hopes and our prayers...
What was split asunder...
...Will once more become whole.
Complete and inseparable for all eternity.
